A PLACE WHERE CHILDHOOD MEMORIES ARE MADE

Welcome to Pakuranga Learning Centre

Smiles are not only contagious, but a warm face and voice help children feel safe and families feel comfortable.

At Pakuranga Learning Centre, we welcome all children and families with a smile, open arms, and enthusiasm. With an open-door policy, parents are welcome to stay and spend time with their children whenever they want.

Our goal is to provide guidance and developmentally appropriate learning experiences that set

foundational skills for healthy growth and development in our children. The focus of these

experiences is sensory, physical, language, music, art, all learned through 'child-initiated play'.

We make it a high priority to help children acquire good self-image and promote an 'I can do it'

attitude. It is our goal to provide an environment that makes children feel at home and

welcomed. In our program, children will feel supported as they engage with new ideas

and learning.

Our program is inspired by nature and sustainability. We believe that children should guide

their own learning through experiences of touching, moving, listening, and observing.

Your child will have immense opportunities of using natural and recycled resources

indoors as well as outdoors.

Regular excursions, nature walks, and community interaction are part of our curriculum.

We believe that through nature children think, question and make hypothesis thereby

developing inquisitive minds.

Our Centre environment gives children endless ways and opportunities to express themselves.

WHY CHOOSE US?

We are a 'home away from home' where we prepare your child emotionally, intellectually, and socially for the future. We have a qualified close-knit team of nurturing and professional educators who collaborate with parents, caregivers, and whanau to meet the needs of your children.

WHO WE ARE

At Pakuranga Learning Centre, we focus on promoting the development of early literacy/numeracy skills and knowledge. A wide range of equipment and resources are provided both indoors and outdoors and children are encouraged to make choices about their play. Children are invited to participate in learning opportunities and to share their ideas, passions, and interests with others.

As young minds develop, they have an extraordinary capacity to learn. During these formative years, it is extremely important to ensure your child is in an environment that is both challenging and rewarding.

Through age-appropriate learning experiences, each child can master skills in the areas of communication, social interaction, cognitive and physical development. By experiencing success in each of these areas, a child becomes more confident and self-reliant. These positive learning experiences at an early age contribute to the child's sense of self and emotional well-being.

Our teachers act as facilitators to your child’s education and care, allowing them to explore. Young children can develop a strong sense of self, through their accomplishments.

Children, parents, and whanau are included in decision making and planning for learning. The relationship built with teachers and peers enables children to develop a sound social foundation, which will enable them to be successful in their future endeavors.

As parents your aspirations and goals for your child/ren will be respected and acknowledged by the centre. Collaboration between parents and teachers to work alongside to provide education and care resulting in positive outcomes for your child/ren, and that parents are the ‘experts’ on their own children.

WHANAU TESTIMONIALS

WHAT PARENTS SAY

Just wanted to mention that we are loving the changes. 'A' loves doing homework and finding her name in the mornings.
